A few minutes to update the symbol wall, then you wrote a paragraph about chapter 7. We began reading Chapter 8 in LOTF together. We will continue this tomorrow.
AP Lit:
Had a silent discussion on "The Victims" then wrote and turned in a paragraph summarizing your interpretation of this poem.
HW: Read "Abandoned Farmhouse" and [anyone lived in a pretty how town], take notes on your thoughts and interpretations of these and be ready for a graded discussion tomorrow and Friday after our vocab quiz.

New vocab was given, then a pop quiz over chapters 1-6 in LOTF for Monday.
On Tuesday, we talked about some significant elements in Chapter 6.
HW: Read Chapter 7 of LOTF and take notes.Quotes should be on Ralph's internal conflicts.
AP Lit:
Some new vocab and the last of the poetry terms were given.
We discussed Mr Flood's Party, Church Going, Sonrisas, The Dance, and To His Coy Mistress in terms of internal structure.
HW: Read and contemplate The Victims and all of the elements going on this poem. We'll work with this in depth tomorrow.

Friday, as always, equals vocab quiz and SSR. Today, a few groups finished up attaching quotes to their symbol posters.
HW: For Monday, read Chapter 6 in LOTF and work on your notes. You should find quotes that reveal the symbol you are following, or just show changes that are occurring on the island. (Also, don't be surprised if there is a reading quiz on Monday, so be sure you get all caught up if you are behind in the reading.)

We took our weekly vocab quiz and then had some time to chat about the AP test and just take it easy. We'll start up with some serious English again next week now that AP testing (for most of you) is over. Have a great weekend!
