Thursday

12/11 (A) and 12/12 (B)

We're almost there...just a few more days until winter break.

Freshmen:
First we read an article about the accidental death of a Walmart employee on Black Friday...(see any connections to Simon?) Then we discussed the Chapter 10 reading. (How are they all changing? What are Ralph's options?) Then, we read Chapter 11 and began Chapter 12 together. (Poor Piggy...poor Ralph...it's pretty intense.)
HW: Finish reading all of LOTF and notes. There will be a LOTF reading test on Monday/Tuesday. It will cover the basic characters, events, etc. of the novel. If you missed class or are behind on the reading, get caught up over the weekend!

AP Lit:
After a few minutes to review, we took the BNW vocab quiz. (What hints? I never give hints!) Then, we revisited the last selection and questions from the Practice AP Test. You discussed your answers to the 10 questions with others and then we discussed the actual answer key. I'll reveal all the answers next class, so bring your practice tests with you.
HW: Finish papers, metacognitions and soundtracks. All due next week.

Shakespeare:
We began watching the Shrew movie. Also, for those looking for a little extra credit: write a closing scene that reveals what happens to Sly and the frame story. Extra extra credit for Shakespearean sounding language!
